A Public Letter To Facebook

Monday 9 February 2009

facebook-warning

Dear Facebook,

I am writing to you publicly regarding your inappropriate use of warnings and your apparent judge jury and executioner stance when it comes to people’s profiles.

You have written to me and accused me of incorrectly managing my Facebook account. I would like to see the evidence of this. You have also found it necessary to remove a photograph from my Facebook account without consulting me first and allowing me to put forward an explanation as to why that photograph was there.

For the record, I am a sensible editor of both blogs, and my Facebook page. My account it subject to review by colleagues who would tell me if something was inappropriate. I do not believe that any photograph I have posted contravenes any of the rules of Facebook, contains violence, nudity, offensive material or is inappropriate for a site such as this.

Unfortunately I have had no choice but to write this publicly as I do not agree with your procedures and a) wish to put forward my side b) highlight your snooping around people’s profiles removing what ever you like to remove.

Once again for the record, nothing on my Facebook profile is inappropriate.

Yours unhappily.

Nick Packham.
