Over the past 5 years or so, I’ve been involved in local radio in one form or another.
I started off as a outside broadcast assistant for Juice 107.2 in Brighton, basically humping cable around and plugging stuff in, until I suggested to a friend, Jay Jackson, who was a DJ on the station that we should do live travel from the street. The MD heard this idea and thought it was great, and so Travel Nick was born.
Every day on Drivetime, Travel Nick would be out in the “Juice Jam Jeep” ,a branded Vauxhall Frontera, reporting on the roads around Brighton and Hove. This then led onto doing live inserts from the radio car.

Due to various changes which took place internally, in 2004 Travel Nick was no longer heard on air presenting the travel news, but continued to be part of the Outside Broadcast Team, and was occasionally heard on Brooksy’s Rude Awakening, the morning show on Juice.
Shortly after this, Travel Nick was no more and I severed my relationship with Juice 107.2. In the words of Dave Lee Travis “Various changes have been made etc”.
The format and philosophy of the station had changed, and it was no longer the station which I loved so much.
In 2006, I took on a new challenge with former Juice presenter Simon Hardwick and became the voice of travel for Passion Radio, originally just on the internet, Passion was granted a RSL on FM around Brighton and Hove, before moving to DAB Radio.

Passion hopes to return to DAB radio soon, you can still listen on the internet at http://www.passionradio.co.uk and you can still see me driving round the city in my little Passion branded car.
Currently, I am not active on air, but with the hopeful return of Passion to DAB, I will be back on air again.
